Schools' Development Officer
The Schools' Development Officer is a co-opted member of the Philosoph committee, whose role is to promote, encourage and facilitate debating in Munster schools, including organising debating workshops both in UCC and on a regional basis. The position was created in the 156th Session, to assist the Schools Convenor in the development aspect of the Munster Schools Programme.
During the 158th Session, Eoghan McSwiney served as acting Schools' Development Officer following the resignation of Kevin O'Toole. During the 160th Session, the post fell into abeyance, with the duties of the role being performed by the Schools Convenor with the assistance of the committee. A schools development committee was set up on an ad-hoc basis, with a number of workshops run by Jesse Harrington. The position was revived for the 161st Session.
The current Schools Development Officer is Eoin O'Sullivan.
