The National Maidens' Debating Competition is one of Ireland's national competitions. It is the only national competition for individual speakers only. As suggested by the name, the competition is only open to maiden speakers. A maiden speaker for the purposes of the competition is someone who is in their first year of competitive debating at college. Any IVs or opens entered while in secondary school do not disqualify a person from entering the competition.

This is one of 3 intervarsity maiden speakers competitions; the others being the UCD Novice IV and the Novice Final at the Cork IV.

The competition is organised by a host society, which rotates every year around the major Irish debating societies. UCC last hosted the competition in 2012 (162th Session) when the competition was convened by Davy Jones and Aisling Ryan; the competitive debating officers in Philosoph and Lawsoc respectively.
